Welcome to the Citizenship Academy Website
The Citizenship Academy is an initiative created by Leonard Cheshire in partnership with the Electoral Commission. The Academy aims to empower disabled people across Scotland to become more actively involved in their local communities, with an emphasis on learning about Scotland’s democratic processes.
This website is a guide to the Academy; our aims, and the way in which the course equips disabled people with the confidence, skills and knowledge to get their voices heard and become more involved the decision making processes that affect our lives.
It is also a base for our existing students and graduates to share information and ideas with each other and the academy’s network.
Annual Conference
The third Citizenship Academy conference will be held towards the end of 2009.
